Our products are so customizable that it is impossible to accurately price each item. Prices reflect the actual item being described. In some cases alternate options, such as size, text, emblems, type of wood, and finish, are offered along with pricing. However, you may communicate your particular desires, and we will get back with a price estimate. Please be aware, sometimes the design process is harder and more time consuming that the actual making of the product! As an example, designing the "Two Shields" in the picture to the right took many, many hours since it was reconstructed off of a photo of the emblem on a T shirt!
A Woodcrafter's
Journey
Back in 2014 I decided to learn about CNC routing. I became fascinated by the possibilities afforded by combining a hand-held wood router with a computer. Online, I found Joe in Texas who made such a contraption completely from scratch. He had gone through several evolutions until he came up with this machine. Now for $75, Joe simply provided a drawing, nothing more except admission to his online forum. Here. Joe, himself, posted a whole bunch of helpful stuff along with many others. So, after spending hours and hours reading about their experiences, failures, and what they learned, I decided to pull the trigger!

When my first shipment arrived, I stared at it and wondered out loud, "What the h--- do I do now? Long story short, I finally did my first calibration on a beer bottle! You might (or might not!) enjoy my re-enactment of that process in the adjoining video.

I subsequently experimented with several techniques and broke many expensive bits in the process. The next several years consisted of life getting in the way with just sporadic usage, until the the last couple of years. I then began working with woods other than pine, learning about finishing woods, experimenting with new techniques, and learning that calibrating to a beer bottle is not nearly good enough for precision carving! I also have learned that this machine by Joe, is a beast. It is worth many times my investment and is nearly industrial quality, enabling me to precision carve some pretty impressive pieces.
